Answers to common questions

BOOKING & PRICING

How do I book a session?

You can book online through our booking page which is available 24/7. Simply select your service, choose a date and time, and pay your deposit. You can also contact us via email to discuss your project before booking.

How much does a session cost?

Our hourly recording rate is £40 with an engineer. Half day (4 hours) is £140 and full day (8 hours) is £250. Dry hire (self-service) is available at £25/hour. See our full pricing page for all services.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes, a 50% deposit is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance is due on the day of your session. For last-minute bookings (within 48 hours), full payment may be required.

What's your cancellation policy?

Cancellations with 48+ hours notice receive a full refund. 24-48 hours notice gets 50% refund. Less than 24 hours notice forfeits the deposit. See our full refund policy for details.

Can I reschedule my session?

Yes, with 48+ hours notice you can reschedule for free, subject to availability. Sessions can be rescheduled once without penalty. Further rescheduling may incur a £25 admin fee.

RECORDING SESSIONS

What should I bring to my session?

Bring your lyrics, reference tracks, and any ideas you want to work on. If you have beats on USB or can access them online, bring those too. We provide all equipment, microphones, and headphones. Just bring yourself ready to create!

How many songs can I record in an hour?

This varies depending on your experience and the complexity of the track. A well-prepared artist might record 1-2 songs per hour. First-timers might complete 1 song in 2 hours. We recommend booking extra time if you're unsure.

Can I bring friends to my session?

Yes, you can bring guests, but we limit it to 6 people maximum in the studio at any time. Too many people can be distracting and affect the quality of your recording. Let us know in advance if you're bringing a larger group.

What software/DAW do you use?

We primarily use Pro Tools Ultimate and Logic Pro X. We also have Ableton Live Suite available. If you have a specific DAW preference, let us know when booking and we'll accommodate where possible.

What do I get at the end of my session?

You'll receive a rough mix of your recording in MP3 and WAV format. Session files can be provided on request. We store session files for 90 days—after that, files may be deleted unless you arrange extended storage.

What's the difference between dry hire and a regular session?

Dry hire means you run the session yourself without our engineer—you're responsible for the equipment and recording. This is ideal for experienced producers who know their way around a studio. Regular sessions include our engineer who handles all the technical aspects.

MIXING & MASTERING

What's the difference between mixing and mastering?

Mixing balances all the individual elements of your track (vocals, instruments, etc.) to create a cohesive sound. Mastering is the final polish—optimising loudness, EQ, and stereo width so your track sounds professional on all playback systems and streaming platforms.

How long does mixing/mastering take?

Standard turnaround is 5-7 working days for mixing and 2-3 working days for mastering. Rush services are available at an additional cost if you need faster delivery.

How many revisions are included?

Our mixing and mastering services include up to 2 rounds of revisions. Additional revisions are charged at our hourly rate. We encourage you to provide detailed feedback in your first revision to make the most of the included rounds.
